‘She-Hulk’ Episode 6 Ending Explained: Who Is the Intelligencia?

As She-Hulk: Attorney at law enters its last stretch of episodes (only three more left, boo!), the larger storyline is becoming more apparent. Someone is after She-Hulk’s gamma-irradiated super-blood, and those someones are a bunch of haters and man-babies. Okay, or you can call them the Intelligencia, but that’s what they want you to do.

So, who are the Intelligencia and who could ultimately pop up on TV as a punching bag for Jen Walters? Let’s break down what we know about the Intelligencia and what we know about their Marvel Cinematic Universe counterparts.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 6 ending explained: Who are the villains in She-Hulk?

Well, Titania, duh! Can there be anyone else? Oh, wait — there can be and, as of this episode, we now know there definitely is. Don’t tell Titania. In this episode, we find out who was behind the Wrecking Crew’s attempt to get a sample of She-Hulk’s blood back in Episode 3.

The mastermind (?) behind that incredibly misguided attack on She-Hulk is a group of men (or “hateful man-babies,” as Mallory Book accurately calls them) behind a website called… Intelligencia.

Who are the Intelligencia?

We don’t know much about the MCU’s Intelligencia, but they have counterparts in the comics. Created by Jeff Parker and Paul Pelletier, the Intelligencia were introduced during 2009’s “Fall of the Hulks” storyline. The group consisted of some of the self-proclaimed smartest villains in the universe (all men, of course). Their original roster included the Leader, M.O.D.O.K., Doctor Doom, Red Ghost, Wizard, Mad Thinker, and Egghead. Later on, Trapster and Klaw (or rather the Spider-Man villain posing as Klaw) joined up.

It’s hard to tell if this roster, or a variation of it, will appear in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. A few of the characters have appeared in the MCU already. Tim Blake Nelson played a proto-Leader in 2008’s Incredible Hulk, and it was just announced that he will be a villain in Captain America: New World Order. Egghead’s alter-ego Elihas Starr appeared in flashbacks in Ant-Man and the Wasp, where he was briefly played by Michael Cerveris before the character died. And Klaw, or rather Ulysses Klaue, was played by Andy Serkis and killed in Black Panther. While Klaw may be dead, a file seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron listed the Intelligencia as one of his former alliances. And M.O.D.O.K. is scheduled to appear in the next Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (he did have his own animated Hulu series… but it’s not part of the MCU).

So, who could show up in She-Hulk? Red Ghost (a Russian scientist with… a bunch of super-powered ape sidekicks), Wizard (he’s really smart, not magical), and Mad Thinker (also really smart) all seem to be weird enough to fit in with She-Hulk’s tone. If Marvel Studios wants to introduce a notable villain in this show ahead of their movie debut, they could go for the Leader (a green dude with a big ol’ bumpy, brainy head) or M.O.D.O.K. (a giant head in a floating carriage with tiny arms and legs and no visible body). Odds are they’d go for the Leader, considering the Hulk connection.

And no, Marvel Studios is not going to introduce Doctor Doom as a villain in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Please, please let’s avoid a whole “Mephisto” thing here.

There’s also the possibility that the arrival of the Intelligencia could bring in a fan favorite character to GLK&H: Andy, the Awesome Android.

The big, square-headed android was the Intelligencia’s hench-robot, and he was a creation of Mad Thinker’s. Andy also worked at GLK&H, delivering mail and running odd jobs for lawyers like She-Hulk. He was great, and we want to see him at the firm on TV. Please, Kevin Feige, give it to us.
