Netflix, you had one job. And thankfully, you didn’t screw it up, as Tim Burton’s Addams Family reboot Wednesday will, indeed, premiere on a Wednesday. As just announced, Wednesday will premiere on November 23.

And while you might be screaming that Netflix had two jobs, the second of which was to premiere the spooky series around Halloween, there’s actually a pretty good precedent for releasing Addams Family content around Thanksgiving. The 1991 classic was released on November 22, 1911; while the sequel, Addams Family Values was released on November 19, 1993. So there you go, it’s all part of the Addams Family… Family. Yeah.

In addition to the highly anticipated premiere date, Netflix also shared a new poster, and quote from Jenna Ortega, who stars as Wednesday Addams, on the series. Here’s what she had to say:

“Wednesday is currently a teenager, and we’ve never seen her as a teenager before. Her snarky, snide remarks might not necessarily sound as charming when they’re coming from somebody who should probably know better than a 10-year-old girl. That was a balancing act. We didn’t want to make her sound like every other teenage girl, but we also didn’t want to make her too ignorant. And we’ve never seen her on screen this much. Any other time you’ve seen Wednesday, she’s been the one-liner, the end of a joke, she always hits it, and I think that’s what people really love about her. But in this show, every scene is Wednesday. There’s an opportunity to give her a bit more dimension, and she becomes a bit more of a real person, which I don’t think we’ve ever seen before.”

The show also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams.

Other than the iconic trio above, Wednesday also stars Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Naomi J. Ogawa, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Riki Lindhome and Christina Ricci. Ricci, of note, famously played Wednesday Addams in the ’90s movies; here, she’ll be playing a character named Marilyn Thornhill.

Tim Burton directed the first four episodes of the series, with additional episodes directed by Gandja Monteiro and James Marshall. The show is showrunner, written, and executive produced by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar..
