‘Ink Master’ Drops Chaotic Twist in Exclusive Clip: “I Was Not Emotionally Prepared for This”

Ink Master has always had more than its fair share of twists and turns, but the show’s debut season on Paramount+ has an added level of straight-up chaos. Not only does Season 14 have an all-star cast of Ink Master veterans and the toughest challenges in the show’s history, it also features Dave Navarro as the Master of Chaos. His mission: take challenges from merely hard to practically impossible. In an exclusive clip from this week’s episode of Ink Master, you get to see Navarro drop the bomb on the remaining artists — and, to paraphrase Creepy Jason, none of them were emotionally prepared for this. Episode 6’s challenge is already hard enough: they have to show off their contrast skills by tattooing a bug in the black and gray realism style. That’s a tall order considering that Ryan Ashley, one of the judges and a previous Ink Master champion, specializes in that very style. But, as Chaos Master Navarro says, that’s not all.

This week’s twist is all about placement — which is something that can make or break an artist. That’s why everyone who gets assigned a rib tattoo always convinces the canvas to change their mind. But the placement is non-negotiable this week — and the placement is on the throat.

Yeah, a black and gray realistic tattoo of a bug on the throat. Nobody is psyched about this.

This is just the latest in a long line of twists that have made Season 14 completely unpredictable. For instance, there was the time a few weeks ago when four — yes, four — previous Ink Master winners — yes, winners — joined the competition at pretty much the halfway point.
