Who Is Pizza Pete on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’? Meet Peter Izzo, aka The Pizza Guy

Bachelor in Paradise is serving up drama by the slice now that Pizza Pete arrived on the beach.
Much to everyone’s annoyance (but mostly Casey’s) Pete the Pizza Guy, aka the Pizza King, aka the Pizzapreneur, descended the Paradise stairs in Episode 5 and once again spent the majority of his time on camera discussing his pizza business and his love for the cheesy, saucy pies.
If you’re not a loyal Bachelorette follower, or you simply block every season out of your brain after the finale airs, I imagine the arrival of Pizza Pete (whose real name is Peter Izzo) was deeply confusing. Who is Pizza Pete? What’s his beloved pizza chain called? And who’s he dating on Bachelor in Paradise? We’re here to spill the sauce (that’s Italian for spill the tea) on all things Pizza Pete.

Who Is Pizza Pete on Bachelor in Paradise? Meet Peter Izzo

Peter Izzo first appeared on Season 18 of The Bachelorette, where he dated Michelle Young alongside current Bachelor in Paradise contestants including Brandon Jones, Casey Woods, Rodney Matthews, and Romeo Alexander. Per Peter’s old ABC bio, he’s from Port St. Joe, Florida, and is “a hopeless romantic who commits for the long haul.” The bio notes that Pizza Pete moved to Italy to study pizza firsthand before fulfilling his childhood dream of opening his own pizzeria. It also reveals he “loves deep house music,”
“doesn’t like libraries” (red flag), and calls himself a “vino head” because of his deep love for red wine.

While on The Bachelorette, Peter was criticized for plugging his pizzeria too frequently, and his fellow contestants accused him of being a narcissist. He’s remembered for throwing a fellow contestant’s jacket into the pool, caring about pizza more than Michelle, and staying true to his brand by bringing pizza to the “Men Tell All” special. You can follow Peter Izzo on Instagram, where he has 14,600 followers and frequently shares photos of his pies.

What is Pizza Pete’s Pizza Chain?

Curious what the Pizza King’s famous pizzeria is called? We’ll give you one guess. Yes, it’s Peter’s Pizzeria. The website for the pizzeria, established in 2019, features a menu and a selection of merch that’s introduced with the following words, which you must read in a Peter voice: “Buongiornoooooo Pizza Loverssssss! Pre-order your favorite Peters Pizzeria catchphrase merch today.” The shirts feature these classic Pizza Pete sayings, which you may also hear on Paradise:

  • “Slice Appetit”
  • “Chao for now”
  • “Changing lives, one slice at a time”

Who Did Pizza Pete Date on Bachelor in Paradise?

As noted in our episode recap, Peter and Brittany Galvin had a lovely conversation on the beach, so he used his date card to ask her out in hopes she’d become the Pizza Queen to his Pizza King. The two spent a day lounging on a yacht, swimming, sipping champagne, and chatting, but mid-date you could tell Brittany was no longer feeling the Pizzapreneur. Just like the few weeks he spent on The Bachelorette, Peter talked a lot about himself, his business, and his one true love P-I-Z-Z-A. At one point he tried to kiss Brittany, but she dodged his lips and said she takes relationships slowly. After the date, Brittany debriefed with her friends and admitted that she just wasn’t a fan of Pete.

Before the episode wrapped, we saw Peter trying to convince the men of Paradise that Brittany was on the show for the wrong reasons. In previews for upcoming episodes he’s seen arguing that Brittany is only there for clout and to launch a successful Instagram modeling career. We’ll see how that extra saucy drama shakes out, but it seems like Brittany is here for Paradise. She just didn’t come for pizza.
New episodes of Bachelor in Paradise air on ABC Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET. Episodes are available for next-day streaming on Hulu.
