Who Plays Hulk’s Son Skaar in ‘She-Hulk’? Meet Wil Deusner

Leave it to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law to deliver a finale that’s that off-the-rails unexpected. After a season of meta jokes and unexpected twists and genre-defying developments, would you really expect She-Hulk to give us an ending that was big on superhero spectacle and senseless brawling? Nuh-uh, think again! Jennifer Walters knows what her show is — and her show is unlike anything we’ve seen in the MCU.

But there’s one way that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is very much like everything else in the MCU: it gave us a major character introduction that’s gonna propel the franchise forward in a totally unexpected way. So, what happened? Let’s talk about the latest addition to the Marvel family, Hulk’s son, Skaar, who is played by Wil Deusner.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 9 ending explained:

After She-Hulk regains control of her show by punching her way through the fourth wall and confronting Kevin — sorry, I mean K.E.V.I.N. — the season concludes the way that a She-Hulk season should conclude. The whole blood plotline is scrapped (there have been so many Marvel movies about creating a superhero serum) and instead of getting pummeled as He-Hulk, Todd Phelps gets arrested and sued by Jennifer Walters. And because Jen knows what she wants, she has Daredevil drop in for another visit, a visit that includes a typically awkward backyard cookout with her very awkward extended family.

And then the family gets a huge addition.

Cousin Bruce (Mark Ruffalo) shows up, returning from his sojourn to the planet Sakaar. It turns out that courier arrived on Earth in Episode 1 in order to tell him about… his son. Meet the Hulk’s son, Skaar!

Who is Hulk’s son Skaar in the MCU?

Here’s what we know about Skaar the character as he exists in the MCU: he’s Hulk’s son and he was hanging out on the planet Sakaar, the trash planet seen in Thor: Ragnarok. That’s all we know and the rest we have to infer. We can infer that Skaar’s mother is/was a Sakaarian, or possibly another gladiator on the planet. We know that Bruce Banner didn’t know about Skaar because he was presumably conceived during the stretch of time where the Hulk was in control. We also know, thanks to the MCU timeline, that Skaar is… around 9 years old.

Avengers: Age of Ultron took place in spring 2015, and that’s around when Hulk ended up on Sakaar. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law takes place in spring 2024. Skaar definitely doesn’t look 9, but… who knows how fast a Sakaarian/Hulk hybrid ages.

Who is Skaar in the comics? Does Hulk have a son in the comics?

Yes, the Hulk does have a son in the comics. Skaar is the son of the Hulk and the Sakaarian Caiera the Oldstrong. Skaar’s rapid aging was explained via a cocoon — y’all don’t need me to get into that; just know there was an excuse for him not being a baby. Upon being exiled on Earth, Skaar began a tense relationship with his father. In the comics, Skaar is a warrior and depicted as more of a Conan the Barbarian type and less of a superhero-y, Hulk smash type.

Who plays Skaar in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? Meet Wil Deusner

During his brief, non-speaking appearance, Skaar is played by Will Deusner. You might remember Deusner from his recurring role on the CW’s Stargirl as the nerdy Joey Zarick. Now he’s in the MCU and will presumably pop up somewhere in a more substantial role. As for where or when Skaar and Hulk’s father/son dynamic will be explored, that remains a mystery.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law post credits scene explained:

And of course there’s a post-credits scene that moves Emil Blonsky/Abomination’s plot further along. Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, busts Emil out of his cell and it looks like Blonsky’s going to serve out his sentence — rather, a self-imposed sentence and not the one the government mandated — in Kamar-Taj. It’s not yet known when or where we will see this storyline continue, but one can hope that Madisynn will be involved.
