Ana Navarro Clashes With Sunny Hostin During Herschel Walker Debate On ‘The View’: “I Don’t Know What You Were Drinking”

If you missed today’s episode of The Viewyou missed something rare: Sunny Hostin defending a Republican. While weighing in on Herschel Walker’s debate against Raphael Warnock, the host clashed with her co-hosts after surprisingly saying she believes the GOP candidate “overperformed.”

“He did so much better than I thought he did that I think he gained votes. And I’m not talking about Warnock, I’m talking about Walker,” Hostin, who has been incredibly outspoken against the GOP, admitted to the panel. “I mean my father said, ‘Maybe he doesn’t have CTE.’ That was one of the first things that my father thought. And listening to the way he was able to discuss issues…”

Whoopi Goldberg cut off her co-host, saying, “I wouldn’t call it discuss issues, come on now. It was a little stuttery for me.” However, Hostin still held her ground, adding that she and her father watched the debate and “left thinking Warnock underperformed and Walker overperformed.”

When Sara Haines chimed in with her own guess as to why Hostin thought Walker did well — that she had “pretty low standards for him” — she said, “We did but I think that trying to tie Warnock to Biden’s low approval was pretty smart. He looked like he had been prepped really well.”

Meanwhile, Ana Navarro, despite being one of two conservatives sitting at the table, was not having it. She quipped, “Girl, I don’t know what you were drinking when you watched that debate,” before going on to say she saw clips.

“In the clips, he didn’t have a coherent thought, he couldn’t complete his sentences, and he was lying again,” Navarro said to which Hostin responded, “Oh, he did lie. He did lie often.”

Later on in the segment, while discussing Katie Hobbs’ refusal to debate her Republican opponent Kari Lake, Alyssa Farah Griffin told the co-hosts, “What I worry about is a lot of Democrats are rightly saying, ‘We’re concerned about the future of democracy,’ yet many have put money behind trying to boost election deniers and then going on the other side to not debate them. That’s a huge problem.”

When Hostin pointed out that “it’s a problem if you’re going debate someone that is going to spread misinformation [and] lie,” Haines fired back, “But you liked Herschel Walker.”

“I said he did better — I didn’t like him,” Hostin clarified. “I think he did better than expected.”
