‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Episode 6 Recap: Who Went Home Week 4, Part 1? Who Joined the Cast?

From beach brawls and Game of Thrones references to a medical emergency and a game-changing twist from Jesse Palmer, Week 4, Part 1 of Bachelor in Paradise was truly one of the most dramatic episodes of all time.

We saw a rose ceremony unfold, finally bid farewell to vacationing alum Ashley and Jared, witnessed a Paradise miracle, and ended on a major cliffhanger.

Looking for a recap of Bachelor in Paradise Week 4, Part 1? Wondering how the rose ceremony went down in Season 8, Episode 6? Who went home and who joined the cast? Who snagged a date card? And who’s coupled up ahead of the next episode? We’ve got you covered. But be warned, spoilers for Bachelor in Paradise Episode 6 are ahead.

Bachelor in Paradise Episode 6 Rose Ceremony Recap: Who went home during Week 4, Part 1?

The women had the roses this week, and since there were 7 girls and 12 guys ahead of this particular ceremony, contestants kept calling it “The Red Rose Ceremony,” a “bloodbath,” and a “massacre.” DRAMA.

Here’s a breakdown of which contestant got each woman’s rose, along with who went home during the episode:

  • Brandon accepted Serene’s rose
  • Jacob accepted Jill’s rose
  • Rodney accepted Lace’s rose
  • Aaron accepted Genevieve’s rose
  • Logan accepted Shanae’s rose
  • Johnny accepted Victoria’s rose
  • Andrew accepted Brittany’s rose
  • Michael accepted (new arrival) Danielle’s rose

After the last rose, James and Justin said their goodbyes. But if the list looks a bit light, that’s because Pizza Pete and Casey bid extra dramatic farewells to the beach beforehand. In a last-ditch effort to get Brittany’s rose and raise genuine concerns about Peter, Casey told Brittany that Peter was spreading rumors about her being a clout chaser who came on Paradise to further her Instagram career. When Brittany (and essentially everyone else on the beach) confronted Peter about his behavior, Casey got so stressed that he passed out and was taken away in an ambulance. Peter eventually self-eliminated, screaming an obnoxious, “Buongiorno bitches! Peter’s Pizzeria the pizza king is out!”

As noted, Paradise also lost Jared and Ashley this episode. Since they finally smashed in Paradise, it was time to go back home to their son. And in a twist that we’ll unpack in a minute, nearly all the women we’ve gotten to know the first six episodes also left the beach. Sure, they’ll be back in a week. But they still technically left.

Bachelor in Paradise Week 4, Part 1: Who arrived on the beach during Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, Episode 6?

A whopping SIX ladies arrived during Episode 6, starting with Paradise alum Danielle Maltby, who was also a contestant on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor. Since Danielle arrives shortly before the rose ceremony, she doesn’t have a lot of time to form connections, but she has a lot in common with Michael — one of the few available men on the beach — and she gives him her rose.

With minutes to spare in the episode, Jesse Palmer announced a major twist: The women of Paradise (minus new arrival Danielle) would be relocating and leaving their men behind for a week, and five new women would be arriving in their place to put existing relationships to the test.

Here are the five women introduced in Episode 6:

  • Jessenia Cruz: Matt James’ season of The Bachelor and Paradise Season 7
  • Sarah Hamrick: Clayton’s season of The Bachelor
  • Kate Gallivan: Clayton’s season of The Bachelor
  • Eliza Isichei: Clayton’s season of The Bachelor
  • Florence Moerenhout: The Bachelor Australia, Season 5 and Paradise Australia Seasons 1 and 2

Bachelor in Paradise Week 4, Part 1: Who Went on a Date On Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, Episode 6?

Due to all the drama, there was only one official date in Episode 6, but dang, it was a good one. As a solo new arrival, Danielle Maltby received a date card that said, “Love is on the horizon.” She asked Michael out, and he accepted, so the two went on a boat, walked around a bit, ate, drank, and had some serious heart-to-hearts.

Danielle told Michael that she came to Paradise with hopes of meeting him, and the two bonded over prematurely losing their loved ones. (Michael lost his wife and the mother of his son to cancer, and Danielle lost her fiancé through a drug overdose.) After discussing their grief, the struggles of dating again after major loss, and their hopes for the future, the date ended with a kiss.

Who Ends Up Together in Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, Episode 6?

At the start of Week 4 there were more than a few solid couples, but after Jesse sent the OG Paradise women away to tempt the men on the beach with five new ladies, we’ll have to wait and see how things shake out. Going into Episode 7, here are the only two couples that feel super solid:

  • Brandon Jones and Serene Russell (Status: Still solid AF)
  • Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio (Status: New But Sweet AF)

New episodes of Bachelor in Paradise air on ABC Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET. Episodes are available for next-day streaming on Hulu.
