She’s truly a hard-working and talented actress who we’re ecstatic to get to see outdo her own outstanding work year after year with increasingly nuanced and lived-in performances, with this latest one being one of her best yet.  So, without further ado, give it up for your WCW, the magnificent Chloë Grace Moretz!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Chloë Grace Moretz

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Moretz stars as Flynne Fisher in upcoming Amazon Prime Video Original title The Peripheral, which premieres on the platform this Friday, October 21. Based on William Gibson’s 2014 mystery-thriller novel of the same name, this sci-fi series revolves around Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a woman struggling to hold her broken family together while living in a forgotten corner of an alternate version of tomorrow’s United States of America. Even though Flynne is smart and ambitious, her future looks bleak and hopeless until a new and seemingly impossible alternate reality comes calling thanks to advanced technology that acts as a bridge between different planes of existence.

In addition to Moretz, this riveting and mind-bending series also features Gary Carr, Jack Reynor, Eli Goree, Charlotte Riley, JJ Feild, Adelind Horan, T’Nia Miller, Alex Hernandez, Austin Rising, and Amber Rose Revah, so be sure to check out all of their great work in The Peripheral as soon as it drops this week, only on Amazon Prime Video.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Moretz’s professional onscreen career began in 2004, when she played Violet in two episodes of CBS drama series The Guardian. A mere year later, she was already making her feature film debut three times over in drama Heart of the Beholder, action flick Today You Die, and supernatural horror The Amityville Horror. From there she steadily began accumulating more work in TV shows like Desperate HousewivesMy Name is EarlMy Friends Tigger & Pooh, and Dirty Sexy Money, as well as in films like 2006 crime-comedy Big Momma’s House 2, 2006 zombie horror Wicked Little Things, 2008 supernatural horror-thriller The Eye, 2008 animated comedy-adventure Bolt, 2009 fantasy adventure-comedy Jack and the Beanstalk, and 2009 romantic comedy-drama 500 Days of Summer.

Moretz’s acting career was then taken to new heights in 2010 when she landed the lead role of Mindy McCready/Hit-Girl superhero comedy Kick-Ass, in addition to the roles of Angie Steadman in comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Abby in romantic-horror Let Me In that same year. After these films, not only did she work on well-known series like 30 RockAmerican Dad!, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but she also fully established herself as a movie star to look out for thanks to roles in 2011 comedy-drama Hick, 2011 adventure-drama Hugo, 2012 gothic fantasy-comedy Dark Shadows, 2013 superhero comedy Kick-Ass 2, 2013 supernatural horror Carrie, 2014 romantic-comedy Laggies, 2014 teen romantic-drama If I Stay, 2016 sci-fi action The 5th Wave, and 2016 biographical-drama Brain on Fire.

Most recently, Moretz has continued to put in notable performances, further building up her already astounding filmography with features like 2018 drama The Miseducation of Cameron Post, 2018 supernatural horror Suspiria, 2018 psychological-thriller Greta, 2019 animated fantasy Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs, 2019 animated supernatural dark comedy The Addams Family (and its 2021 sequel), 2020 war horror Shadow in the Cloud, 2021 animated slapstick comedy Tom & Jerry, and 2021 post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Mother/Android. WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Luckily, you won’t have to wait too much longer to see more from Moretz once you finish streaming The Peripheral, as the actress already has three projects in the works. She will voice the titular lead in 2023 animated action-adventure film Nimona in addition to starring as Bonnie Parker in crime-drama film Love is a Gun and Deborah Layton in thriller film White Night, both of which are currently in pre-production.
