‘E! News’ Returns 2 Years After Getting Canceled, With New Hosts Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Justin Sylvester

Turns out the cancellation of E! News was more of a temporary break. The entertainment news show is returning to TV two years after it went off the air in August 2020, Deadline reports. With E! News back on broadcast, the show will shift to its old evening slot in the E! Network schedule.

The new iteration of E! News will be co-hosted by Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Justin Sylvester, who will kick off their very first show next month. The show will be produced by former The Talk Executive Producer John Redmann and former Maury co-EP John Pascarella.

We can expect an “emphasis on celebrity-friendly, fact-based reporting” from the series revival, which will “serve as a platform for personalities to connect with their fans,” per Deadline.

E! News was initially canceled over two years ago, when E! pulled the plug on the long-running series after three decades on air. The celebrity news program, which first premiered in 1991, was canceled in the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the time, an E! Network spokesperson confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the show was ending “due to the financial fallout caused by the coronavirus pandemic.” As a result, the network also called it quits on two other programs, Pop of the Morning and In the Room.

Before joining E! News, Bailon-Houghton was known for her role in Disney’s The Cheetah Girls franchise, and more recently appeared in Raven’s Home on Disney Channel. She was previously co-host of The Real from 2013-2022, and was a co-panelist on I Can See Your Voice

Sylvester has a long history with E! Network, and was a correspondent on E! News between 2018 and 2019, before the show was pulled in 2020. He has previously co-hosted Daily Pop and The Today Show, and appeared on programs like Live From E! and E! Live From the Red Carpet.

Bailon-Houghton and Sylvester are taking over for previous hosts Lilliana Vazquez and Scott Tweedie, who led E! News until its 2020 cancellation.

E! News returns Nov. 14 at 11:30pm ET on E! Network.
