Season 3 of Netflix‘s dating show Love Is Blind has arrived, and there’s a new Barnett in the pods.

Longtime fans of the reality series may recall a contestant named Matt Barnett married his fiancé Amber Pike in the Season 1 finale. He had dark hair, a delightful smile, and quite the personality. The reason we’re talking about him today? Because Season 3 contestant Cole Barnett, a 26-year-old realtor, fits his description perfectly. The two even share the same last name!

As people burn through Season 3’s first few episodes, the déjà vu is hitting hard. The BBE (Big Barnett Energy) from Cole is so strong that people can’t help but wonder if he’s related to the former Love Is Blind contestant. The official @loveisblindnetflix Instagram account even entered the online chat, posting side-by-side confessional photos of Matt and Cole, along with the caption, “Every season needs a Barnett.” So are Cole Barnett and Matt Barnett brothers? Are they related at all? Or are their similarities (and shared last name) just a wild coincidence? Are Cole Barnett and Matt Barnett related on Love Is Blind?

After Love Is Blind Season 3 premiered on Netflix, fans were quick to tag Cole in all their Barnett brother theories on social media. After the show’s Instagram account posted the above photo, Cole Barnett shared it to his Instagram Story, writing, “I guess he’s the brother I never knew I had.” Because the season was still so new, the question persisted as more and more people started watching, so Cole addressed his similarities with Matt again in a video.

After tagging Matt Barnett in an Instagram story and writing, “I guess we look alike,” Cole told followers via video, “Everyone who’s asking me if I am Matt Barnett’s brother…no. We are not related, but I think he’s a really cool guy.”

So there you have it, folks. Cole Barnett and Matt Barnett allegedly aren’t brothers. They’re just two bros with the same last name, look, and overall vibe. Remarkable.  But despite the statements from Cole, not all fans are convinced he and Matt don’t share the same DNA.

Love Is Blind better unite both Barnetts in a reunion show and continue casting similar Barnett’s for seasons to come. Every season does need a Barnett!
