Leslie Jordan, ‘Will & Grace’ Actor, Dies at 67

Leslie Jordan, an actor and comedian known for his roles on Will & Grace and The Help, has died. He was 67.

TMZ reports Jordan was involved in a fatal car crash in Hollywood today. Law enforcement sources told the outlet they suspect Jordan experienced a “medical emergency” and drove his car into a building.

Additional details about his death were not immediately available.

Jordan was born April 29, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee, and was raised in Chattanooga, according to his IMDb profile. The actor later moved to Los Angeles, where he booked his first role in 1986 as Malone on The Fall Guy.

He went on to build an impressive acting and comedy career, and was known primarily for his television work, which included Will & Grace‘s Beverley Leslie, a role that earned him an Emmy in 2006 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

Jordan’s other TV roles included  Murphy Brown, Hearts Afire, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Boston Public, Boston Legal and Reba, while his more recent appearances included Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, American Horror Story and Call Me Kat.

While Jordan was a fixture onscreen, he also acted in multiple films throughout his career, including Love Ranch, The Help, Fear Inc and A Very Sordid Wedding.

Although Jordan was celebrated for his work onscreen, he also built a sizable following on social media in recent years, where he posted sweet videos to his 5 million-plus Instagram followers. His most recent post, which went up yesterday (Oct. 23), showed Jordan singing a hymn with songwriter Danny Myrick.

Jordan was working on two projects at the time of his death: comedy Strangers in a Strange Land, which is currently in post-production; and Ron., a film also featuring Margaret Cho, which is in pre-production.
