Why Did Sarah Hamrick Leave ‘Bachelor in Paradise’?

In Bachelor in Paradise Episode 10, fans saw the return of Justin Glaze and the departure of “Thor’s Body Double” Adam Todd, but another contestant left the show in a somewhat mysterious fashion.

Ahead of the rose ceremony, host Jesse Palmer gathered the contestants and told them that Split Week arrival Sarah Hamrick had left the beach because of a family emergency. He said she needed to go be with her family, but left it at that. Many fans wondered if Hamrick was OK, and after the episode aired, she shared more of her story on Instagram.

In a post that began, “almost paradise. kinda,” Hamrick told her 72,100 followers that her grandma died while she was on the show. “Having one of the most vulnerable and heartbreaking moments of my life captured while being there was something I never expected,” she explained. “While I wish things had gone differently for myself and my family back home, I hope this can be a reminder that all of us on the show are real people, with real lives and families beyond what you may see on TV. When those worlds intersect like it did for me, it reminds me of what’s really important, and to just be kind. I hope this can remind you of the same as you continue to enjoy watching Paradise unfold.”

Among the four photos Hamrick shared was a throwback shot of her and her grandmother, along with a flower arrangement that she received from her Paradise fam. The card read, “Sarah, We Are So Sorry For Your Loss. Sending You And Your Family All Our Love During This Difficult Time. Love, Your Bachelor Family.”

In addition to her time on Paradise, Hamrick was also a contestant on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor (Season 26). She was eliminated during Week 7.
