Alyssa Farah Griffin Clashes With Sunny Hostin After She Compares Women Voting Republican to “Roaches Voting for Raid” on ‘The View’

Alyssa Farah Griffin got into a heated exchange with Sunny Hostin while speaking of women who vote Republican on today’s episode of The ViewThe former White House staffer, who is the only conservative voice at the table, was quick to shut Hostin down after she compared Republican women to “roaches voting for raid.”

As the midterms approach, the panel gave their thoughts on what issues people are voting on. Hostin admitted that she is surprised about the abortion issue, saying, “I read a poll just yesterday that white, Republican, suburban women, are now going to vote Republican. It’s almost like roaches voting for raid.”

The moment Griffin heard her co-host’s comparison, she jumped in. However, Hostin continued to talk over her as she said, “It’s like they’re voting against their own self-interest. Do they want to live in Gilead? Do they want to be in The Handmaid’s Tale?”

When a moment freed up, Griffin fired back, “Do we love democracy or not? Because just saying that is insulting to the voter. People make decisions based on what’s right for their family,” before pointing out to Hostin, “You had a different view on abortion not that long ago and you evolved on it.”

As Hostin confirmed that she still believes abortion is wrong, Griffin questioned her on why another woman is “not able to have a different view.”

“I have not recently evolved on the issue. I am Catholic. That is my faith. I believe that abortion is wrong for me. There’s a separation between government and church and I do not have the right to tell someone else,” Hostin explained before doubling down on her view. “However, they are voting against their own self-interest.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
