Peacock Rolls Out New Feature for Paying Subscribers to Live Stream Local NBC Channels

Peacock is upping their offerings. The streamer announced a new feature that will allow subscribers to its Premium Plus tier to live stream local NBC stations across 210 affiliate markets. The new feature, which fully launches Nov. 30, will allow viewers to stream real time sports, morning shows, late night and more.

The new addition is only available to subscribers paying for the highest tier of Peacock, Premium Plus, which costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year for an ad-free experience.  The streamer first rolled out the NBC affiliate livestream to customers yesterday, and plans to incorporate in for all Premium Plus subscribers by the end of the month.

If you’re a Premium Plus subscriber, your Peacock homepage will change with the new feature, which will appear in the form of a new channel with the name of whatever NBC broadcast network airs in your area.

The livestream will include both daytime and primetime shows, including Today, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live, as well as The Voicethe Chicago franchise, Law & Order and more.

While Peacock’s Premium Plus offers streaming without ads, the newly introduced NBC affiliate livestream will feature advertisements as seen on traditional, broadcast TV.

Kelly Campbell, President, Peacock and Direct-to-Consumer, NBCUniversal, said in a Nov. 8 press release that the new affiliate livestream gives subscribers “the unique combination of the ad-free on-demand content they love with the local news and NBC programming that is already part of their daily life.”

Peacock’s latest addition follows last month’s exciting news for the streamer, which struck a deal with Hallmark to bring holiday content and more to the platform.

The deal also added live TV to Peacock, offering subscribers live simulcasts of the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama, plus seasonal offerings the company is best known for.
