Who Plays Young Beth and Rip on ‘Yellowstone’? Meet Kylie Rogers and Kyle Red Silverstein

Warning: Spoilers for Yellowstone’s Season 5 Premiere Ahead.

Paramount Network’s hit series Yellowstone is back for a fifth season, and the two-hour premiere not only reunited viewers with the Dutton family, it introduced a number of new faces and welcomed back familiar cameos from episodes past.

The first episode in the Season 5 premiere, “One Hundred Years is Nothing,” shows John Dutton (Kevin Costner) being sworn in as governor, Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Monica (Kelsey Asbille) encountering another tragedy, and Jamie (Wes Bentley) finding his place amidst Montana’s new political landscape. We also check in with newlyweds Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) and get a glimpse at their past through flashbacks.

We see Rip and Beth as teens the day before she leaves for college to study finance. She asks Rip on a date, and they go to a bar, where she takes the lead. She orders a martini, and when the bartender asks for ID, she leans forward and says, “I have two.” The bartender tells Rip — who’s visibly uncomfortable by Beth’s behavior — that he has his hands full, and after he leaves to make the drink, Beth and Rip get into a fight. Rip leaves her the keys, heads home, and waits for her to return. But when another ranch worker drops her off, she kisses him in front of Rip and invites him into the back seat of his truck to hook up.

The episode cuts to present-day, where Beth wakes up in bed. It seems she was remembering the events in a dream, so she heads into the kitchen and apologizes to Rip. “This is a sort of blanket apology to generally cover the past,” she said. “Everything before right now. That’s what I’m sorry for. I was fucking awful to you. I was terrible. And if it is any consolation, I was worse on myself.” Rip tells her he’s happy, but she persists. “I robbed us of so much time together,” she says. “It’s still robbing us.”

It’s not the first time we’ve seen flashbacks to Beth and Rip’s teen years on Yellowstone, and it likely won’t be the last. So who plays young Beth Dutton and young Rip Wheeler on the western drama? Here’s everything you need to know about actors Kylie Rogers and Kyle Red Silverstein.
