‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Premiere Ratings: How Many People Watched?

Yellowstone knocked it out of the ballpark… again! Variety reports that the Season 5 two-episode premiere drew in 8.8 million viewers on Paramount Network, compared to the 8 million total viewers from last year, which was a 104% increase from Season 3.

When factoring broadcasts on Paramount, CMT, TV Land, and Pop, the season opener sits at 10.3 million viewers, compared to last season’s 9.5 million viewers, and a whopping 12.1 million viewers when adding same-night reruns.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, the series follows the Dutton family, led by Kevin Costner as sixth-generation patriarch John Dutton, and their ownership of the largest ranch in Montana. The new season opens with John taking over as Governor of Montana, a title which he uses to continue to protect the local land from outsiders. The series streams live on the Paramount Network app and website with a cable login, with individual episodes also available via Amazon and other streamers.

Along with building suspense and introducing new storylines, the premiere also treated fans to a teaser for the upcoming Paramount+ spin-off 1923, which will premiere November 13 and introduce Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as former Dutton leaders. And, given that it’s never been a better time to be invested in the Sheridan-verse, next week’s episode will segue directly into the season premiere of Sheridan’s new crime drama Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, and Garrett Hedlund.

Yellowstone premieres Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET on Paramount Network.
