‘Today’ Hosts Appalled When ‘White Lotus’ Actress Haley Lu Richardson Started Twerking On Live TV

The White Lotus actress Haley Lu Richardson, who stars as Portia in the hit HBO series, appeared on Today this week and got quite the reaction from hosts during her introduction.

“Up next is Haley Lu Richardson,” the hosts said during her lead-in as the 27-year-old began twerking on camera during the live broadcast.

“What are you doing?!” the hosts said, shocked. “Oops,” said Haley, before resuming her antics.

“It’s a morning show!” one of the hosts exclaimed. “I mean, yeah, come on!” said another.

Set in a tropical resort, The White Lotus follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week as each of their stays are impacted by their various dysfunctions. Season 2 is currently streaming on HBO Max.

Richardson recently spoke about how it felt to see her on-screen romance fall apart as Albie (Adam DiMarco) started to develop a connection with escort Lucia (Simona Tabasco).

“There was one time where I looked over, and it was a very late night and I was a bit loopy, so maybe that could’ve been part of it. But, there was one time where I like, saw you guys making out,” Richardson said to DiMarco during a discussion. “And, I felt myself get emotional as Portia. I remember feeling with Portia in all the prep stuff and figuring her out that I felt like there is a part of her that sees how safe and nice this could be, and like stable.”

HBO has already confirmed that The White Lotus will return for Season 3 in yet another exotic location.
