It seems unlikely that Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes will be returning to Good Morning America‘s lunchtime program, GMA3: What You Need to Know, today, but what’s the harm in hoping?

The two anchors have been absent from the show’s broadcast since Dec. 5 with little-to-no updates from ABC. The network has yet to make a public statement about their future plans, and instead, outlets have been reporting on ABC News President Kim Godwin telling the staff that Robach and Holmes’ affair has been causing a “distraction“.

While it may be considered a “distraction,” the affair has given the show a hearty boost in popularity through viewership (per TMZ) and word-of-mouth. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem to be the sort of attention ABC News is looking for. The media, specifically entertainment film and television, tend to say “any press is good press,” but it’s now been proven that that’s not always the case.

We suspect their names won’t be removed from the narration until a permanent solution is announced.

Who is replacing Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes today?

Once again, DeMarco Morgan and Rhiannon Ally are taking over for Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes on GMA3. They appeared on the show alongside Dr. Jennifer Ashton. The two seem to be growing comfortable in their replacement roles as Morgan told Ally, “Good to be with you again!” at the start of the show.
