Savannah Guthrie and Drew Barrymore Fight Over Human-Sized Teddy Bear on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: “Are You Taking My Man?”

Drew’s News or WWE? Things got bear-y wild on today’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show as Drew Barrymore full-on man-handled a human-sized teddy bear before breaking into a competitive tug-of-war match with Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie.

Co-host Ross Mathews introduced the Drew’s News segment about an emotional support teddy bear named Puffy, a 5-foot, 7-inch stuffed animal that consists of a bear head attached to the “body of a mortgage broker named Kyle.” And it’s safe to say that Barrymore and Guthrie had some fun when the crew brought out two of these “cuddle companions.”

While Guthrie said, “I feel like I want to go either all bear or all man. Hybrid is weird to me,” but pointed out that the creepy bears can help out with the carpool lane. Barrymore then wrestled with her prototype, which she hopped on top of while attempting to place in her chair.

“Listen to me! I said that you have to do half the chores too! This is a non-negotiable,” she yelled in the bear’s face before turning to her co-hosts and asking, “Is this too much?”

Mathews, however, wasn’t having as much fun with the teddy bears as he thought they should “hibernate again under the desk” and added, “I don’t like them.” When Barrymore tried to send Guthrie’s away, the Today Show host asked, “Are you taking my man?”

After the journalist pretended to slap Barrymore, the two became embroiled in a heated tug-of-war over the teddy bear. Guthrie joked, “Now you know how our nights out could go. It could go in a strange direction.”

Hopefully, someone has their camera ready the next time Drew Barrymore, Savannah Guthrie and a human-sized teddy bear named Puffy walk into a bar.
