Will There Be A Season 2 of ‘The Recruit’ on Netflix?

Netflix dropped Season 1 of its new CIA series The Recruit on December 16, 2022, and fans who’ve sped through all eight action-packed episodes were left with some serious questions.

The drama, created by Alexi Hawley, stars Noah Centineo as a Owen Hendricks, a rookie CIA lawyer who finds himself in the middle of a dangerous mission alongside Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), a former asset who claims to have crucial government intel. As the two struggle to survive and clear Max’s name, they find encounter a series of twists, turns, shootouts, and near-death experiences. An unexpected finale cliffhanger leaves viewers to question whether Owen and Max can make it out of their latest bind alive, and also if The Recruit will return with another batch of new episodes down the line.

Will There Be a Season 2 of The Recruit on Netflix?

Yes! On January 26, 2023, Netflix announced The Recruit was officially renewed for a second season. “I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to ’11’ in Season Two,” creator, showrunner and executive oroducer Alexi Hawley told Tudum.com.

When the series does return with additional episodes, viewers will obviously get a chance to learn the fate of Owen and Max after that major cliffhanger. In the final moments of the Season 1 finale, we saw Owen and Max tied to chairs with their hands taped behind their backs. Right after Max explained she didn’t know where they were, a door opened and a woman with short blonde hair walked through. Max looked up at her and said “Katarina?” Then she uttered something in Russian before the woman shot her. The mystery woman then walked over to Owen and asked, “Who are you, and what the fuck are you doing running around with my mother?”

We’ll hopefully get to learn if Max is still alive, what the deal with her daughter is, if Owen makes it to safety, and if Hannah ever leaves Prague. We have so many questions, so here’s hoping Netflix gives us the answers.
