Are Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes on ‘GMA3’ Today, Dec. 22?

We are in the final countdown, there are only two more broadcasts until Christmas and Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are yet to be found. The two anchors have been missing from GMA3: What You Need to Know for nearly three weeks – and this week saw another bump in the road, regular host Dr. Jennifer Ashton has also been absent.

So, what’s been going on? Robach and Holmes, who have co-hosted the lunchtime talk show since 2020, have been absent from the broadcast since Dec. 5 as a result of their alleged affair. On top of it, Ashton is off on a pre-planned holiday vacation, leaving Good Morning America viewers with no normalcy to be found.

Of course, we’re just being dramatic. The two dethroned anchors’ replacements have been great thus far. The first week saw Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez hosting, before DeMarco Morgan popped up. Morgan has now been hosting for nearly two weeks, joined last Monday (Dec. 12) by Rhiannon Ally.

Starting this week, ABC News Medical Contributor Dr. Darien Sutton has been accompanying Morgan and Ally as a fill-in for Ashton.

All three temporary replacements already held titles at ABC News and bring great talents to the program; however, there is something off-putting about two anchors potentially being out of a job and undergoing such a thorough “internal investigation” over a consensual affair. That being said, TMZ reported last week that Robach and Holmes’ long absence could be, in part, due to their pre-established holiday plans.

Let me shake my Magic 8 Ball! “All signs point to no,” you’re kidding me! We’re sorry to report that Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are absent from today’s broadcast of GMA3: What You Need To Know. The two anchors last appeared on the talk show on Dec. 2, making Dec. 5 the first broadcast without them. In addition to their absence, Dr. Jennifer Ashton is also away from work for her holiday vacation, which she announced on Dec. 16.

But there’s hope! Even after nearly three weeks of being off air, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ names are still included in the talk show’s opening sequence. Ahead of each broadcast, the tagline “Now, from Times Square, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes with Dr. Jennifer Ashton and What You Need to Know” is read aloud by a narrator. We suspect their names won’t be removed from the introduction until ABC announces a concrete plan for future broadcasts. As for now, the network is cycling through replacements until the internal review is complete.

Today’s broadcast sees DeMarco Morgan and Rhiannon Ally filling in for Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes on GMA3: What You Need To Know. The two have been replacements since last week with Morgan’s first broadcast being Friday, Dec. 9 and Ally joining him on the following Monday. In addition, ABC News Medical Contributor Dr. Darien Sutton has been joining the two this week as a fill in for Dr. Jennifer Ashton.

At the top of the episode, Rhiannon Ally stated that she and DeMarco Morgan are filling in for Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, along with Dr. Darien Sutton. The replacement anchors did not offer any additional information, compared to the first week the two anchors were off air and replacement host Stephanie Ramos claimed they “have the day off.” There was no comment about Dr. Jennifer Ashton’s absence.
