Jeff Garlin Will Star in ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 4, One Year After HR Investigation Forced Him Off ‘The Goldbergs’

It looks like you can’t cancel Jeff Garlin. While ABC killed off his character in The Goldbergs ahead of the sitcom’s tenth season, the actor is making his way over to Netflix, where he will reportedly star in the fourth and final season of Mindy Kaling’s Never Have I Ever

In the coming-of-age series, Garlin will play Len, a “sweet man” who can make a “mean sandwich” — a strong contrast to the allegedly uncomfortable behavior his former co-workers made claims about. His character will also pose as a potential love interest for Devi Vishwakumar’s (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) grandmother, Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty), per Deadline.

This marks the first gig the actor has signed onto following his abrupt exit from The Goldbergs in the middle of Season 9, where he starred as patriarch Murray Goldberg since 2013. It was announced last year that he would be leaving the series in a mutual agreement after a three-year-long HR investigation into his on-set behavior.

Several former Goldberg employees had told Vanity Fair that Garlin allegedly “engaged in a pattern of verbal and physical conduct on set that made people uncomfortable” and “would touch or hug people whether or not they were comfortable with that contact.”

In response, the actor told the outlet, “[A]s a comedian, if somebody is offended by what I say, all I can say is, I’m sorry. OK? I have never physically come at anyone, for any reason, so that I find terribly confusing and untrue.”

Aside from his upcoming role on Never Have I Ever, Garlin was able to retain his spot on the Larry David-led comedy, Curb Your Enthusiasmwhere he also works as an executive producer.

While there’s no official release date for Never Have I Ever Season 4 just yet, you can currently stream the first three installments on Netflix.
