Team Alfie or Team Gabriel?: ‘Emily in Paris’ Stars Weigh in on the Season 3 Debate

It’s a tale as old as time: Where there’s a TV love triangle, there are teams. And in Season 3 of Emily in Paris, fans are split between Team Gabriel and Team Alfie.
Since 10 new episodes of Emily in Paris dropped on Netflix December 21, viewers have been trying to decide who they ship Emily (Lily Collins) with in the end. There are pros and cons for both Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), and the fact that they’re both so dang dreamy makes the choice especially tough.
On one hand, Alfie is a stellar boyfriend to Emily. He’s kind, understanding, successful, and frequently calls her “Cooper” in his British accent. But is his chemistry with her as strong as her chemistry with Gabriel, the hot chef she’s been crushing on since Day 1? That’s up for debate, but there’s no denying that Gabriel has his downsides, including the fact that he’s back with his ex Camille (Camille Razat) at the start of Season 3.
Just like the fans of Emily in Paris, the stars of the show have some thoughts on the main love triangle of the series. So Decider asked actors Kate Walsh, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount to weigh in on the Gabriel VS Alfie debate. Here’s what they had to say.

Kate Walsh and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu

The actors who play Emily’s bosses, Madeline and Sylvie, only want what’s best for her, which is why they know the Team Alfie and Team Gabriel decision isn’t theirs to make. (Smart ladies!)

PHILIPPINE LEROY-BEAULIEU: I can’t choose sides! I mean I’m going to get killed. [Laughs]

KATE WALSH: There’s no way to choose! That’s Emily’s decision.

Samuel Arnold and Bruno Gouery

Arnold plays Julien and Gouery plays Luc, Emily’s coworkers on the show. But the three out of office friends, too, so of course Arnold and Gouery have some OPINIONS when it comes to Emily’s personal life.

BRUNO GOUERY: I have to say that the most beautiful stories of love are impossible stories like Romeo and Juliet. If the story goes right, you don’t have a great story. So obviously Emily is deeply in love with Gabriel, so I choose Gabriel. Because love is the most important thing.

SAMUEL ARNOLD: Yeah, I think for the drama that’s right. But if this was a real-life thing I would tell these people to get away from each other, because this is not healthy at all. [Laughs]

William Abadie and Lucien Laviscount

Abadie’s character Antoine has a professional relationship with Emily, Alfie, and Gabriel, which means he has unique insight into everyone involved in the love triangle. Laviscount plays Alfie himself, so you would think he’d be a bit biased. But both of these men put Emily first by delivering the most adorable response to the question at the exact same time.

LUCIEN LAVISCOUNT AND WILLIAM ABADIE: *Speaking in complete and utter unison* TEAM LOVE!

LAVISCOUNT: What?! Did we say that at the same time? WHOA!!!!!

ABADIE: What are you doing tonight?

LAVISCOUNT: We are going out tonight, baby!
