New year, new hosts? GMA: What You Need to Know is back for its first broadcast of the New Year after being off air yesterday to make room for ABC’s football programming. But are our favorite hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes back?

The two have had an eventful holiday season, being spotted on vacation together in Atlanta and then Miami. They quickly returned to the Big Apple on Dec. 29, per Us Weekly.

The dethroned anchors were last spotted on the talk show on Dec. 2 before their absence began on Dec. 5, following ABC’s comments of conducting an internal review of their alleged affair which hit the tabloids on Nov. 30.

Holmes appeared on the talk show on Nov. 30 while Robach and their third co-host, Dr. Jennifer Ashton, were absent. The program proceeded as usual with its regular hosts on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.

This new year also brings another big question: Is Ashton back? The show’s resident doctor has been out for two weeks on a holiday vacation in Hawaii, replaced by ABC News Medical Contributor Dr. Darien Sutton.

Last week, Gio Benitez and Janai Norman took over for Holmes and Robach and were met with lukewarm reception from viewers, which was a first as Sutton immediately gained approval for his “drool-worthy” looks and reputable knowledge of health sciences, and previous hosts DeMarco Morgan and Rhiannon Ally wowed fans with their chemistry and willingness to share personal stories.
