‘Jeopardy’ Greats Amy Schneider, James Holzhauer and More to Face off in ‘Jeopardy Masters’

Forget the MCU — we’re all about the JCU (Jeopardy cinematic universe, of course). The game show is slowly but surely expanding its reach, and the spinoffs continue with the newly announced Jeopardy Masters. The latest addition to the brainy franchise is described by ABC as an “elite level iteration” and will be hosted by Ken Jennings, who will preside over some of the show’s brightest talents as they put their smarts to the test once again.

Per ABC, Jeopardy Masters will “feature the six highest-ranked, current Jeopardy! contestants, who will face off in a Champions League style event to win the coveted title of Jeopardy! Masters Champion.”

And who are those six lucky players? Expect to see Matt Amodio, Sam Buttrey, Andrew He, James Holzhauer, Mattea Roach and Amy Schneider.

Each of the six standouts has their own claim to fame, with Amodio boasting a 38-game winning streak, Buttrey collecting a 96.1% average correct response score and He bringing in the largest correct Daily Double wager during his season. Holzhauer had his own 32-game streak, while Roach is Jeopardy‘s first Gen Z champion and Schneider is just behind Jennings on the all-time consecutive wins list.

Each episode of Jeopardy Masters will be an hour long and will air on ABC. The network has not yet announced a premiere date or an air time, but we can expect to learn more soon, so stay tuned for updates.

Jeopardy Masters is the latest in Jeopardy‘s growing lineup of shows. Jeopardy producer Michael Davies previously hinted at what’s in store for Jeopardy in a September interview with The New York Times. He told the outlet, “What we really need to develop is the pro-level version of the game.”

Davies added, “It seemed ridiculous to me that we have this sport where every single year we take all of our best players — we take our LeBrons and our Dwyanes — and we switch them all out.”

And it sounds like we’re about to get just that!
