Are ‘Law & Order’ Stars Christopher Meloni and Ice-T Feuding On Set?

There’s no drama over at the 16th precinct, if you ask the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit stars themselves. Both Ice-T and Christopher Meloni laughed off a report about their supposed feud after being contacted for comment about the alleged spat by the National Enquirer yesterday (Jan. 16).

The SVU co-stars brushed off the rumors on Twitter, where Meloni posted an email he’d received stating that the National Enquirer was “preparing to publish a story reporting actors Ice-T and Christopher Meloni are feuding since the latter’s return to the franchise.”

Ice-T has been starring on SVU as Detective Fin Tutuola for over two decades, while Meloni originally starred on the drama as Detective Elliot Stabler from 1999-2011 before returning to the show in 2020. Meloni was quick to assure fans that his SVU homecoming was not causing any tension on set. In fact, judging by his Twitter exchange with Ice-T, it’s had the opposite effect.

Meloni posted a screenshot of the National Enquirer email and tagged Ice-T’s Twitter handle, writing, “So…⁦
@FINALLEVEL was sent this,” referring to his co-star. “He was kind enough to let me know we were feuding.”

Ice-T replied in the comments, “LOL… Clownass MFs.. Chris is my MF man! F’em They just make BS up. Crazy.”

He echoed his words in a follow-up tweet, sharing the screenshot posted by Meloni and writing, “Just sent this email over to my guy @Chris_Meloni,” adding, “Clownass MFs trying to make up Drama outta thin air… WOW… MFs are really on that BS.”

Clearly the two actors aren’t taking the rumors too seriously. Meloni even joked with a fan about the whole debacle, replying to a tweet reading, “thank god because if we had to choose between you two it would probably be ice.”

He wrote back, “Same.”

Law & Order SVU airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC.
