‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Will Be The Show’s Final Season on Netflix

Cobra Kai has been picked up for its sixth and final season on Netflix. The streaming giant made the announcement on social media, sharing a 1-minute video.

The video includes a compilation of scenes from the series with the voiceover, “We’ve been fighting so long, against each other, with each other, it’s hard to keep track.”

As the video continues, another voiceover asks, “So let me ask, do you have one more fight left in you?” It is then revealed that the new season is “coming soon.”

Creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg called making the series a “humble honor.” In a shared statement, they wrote, “We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.

They continued, “Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. The upcoming season six will mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai.”

The statement called today’s announcement “bittersweet” and stated that the fandom has “never been stronger.” The creators wrote, “This fandom is the best on the planet and we hope to be telling more Cobra Kai stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai never dies.”

Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossber teased that the forthcoming season is the “biggest season of Cobra Kai yet” and there may be more to come.

The Netflix series is a sequel to the original The Karate Kid movies and sees actors Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprising their roles. Zabka opened up about the news on Twitter, writing, “It’s time to finish the fight!” The show first premiered on YouTube Red and was later acquired by Netflix.
