Joss Whedon’s Canceled HBO Show ‘The Nevers’ Is Quietly Getting Burned Off on Tubi

The Nevers‘s never-before-seen final six episodes will be streaming for free on Tubi over the next few days. The once-buzzy Joss Whedon show had been cancelled in December 2022 and yanked off HBO Max to be outsourced to other streamers for easy money. Now, almost two years since The Nevers Season 1 Part I premiered on HBO, the show’s complete first season — Episodes 1-12 — will be airing on Tubi, a free ad-supported streaming platform. Meaning, you can watch an HBO show full of sex, nudity, violence, cursing, and magical Victorian ladies for free this week.

Once upon a time, HBO was hoping that a steampunk superhero show called The Nevers was going to be one of their biggest new hits post-Game of Thrones. Then multiple stars from past Whedon projects spoke out about the toxic environments the nerdy auteur had subjected them to and Whedon awkwardly stepped away from the project. When the first half of the show’s first season premiered in Spring 2021, it received mostly negative reviews thanks to its incredibly confusing plot. In December 2022, The Nevers found itself axed in new WB Discovery chief David Zaslav’s brutal HBO Max bloodbath. That left the show’s fans (who really exist, I’m sure) dealing with the fact that they might never see how Season 1 of The Nevers would end…

Until Tubi showed up!

Tubi is a FAST streaming platform where you can stream shows and movies for absolutely free. They’re also sort of infamous now thanks to their annoying Super Bowl commercial. But The Nevers is one of many former HBO and HBO Max titles that will now be in regular rotation on Tubi’s “WB TV Watchlist Channel.”

So when can you watch the final episodes for free on Tubi? What happens if you missed The Nevers‘s Tubi premiere? And is Tubi worth it???

When Will The Nevers Be Back on Tubi?

Miss your favorite episodes of The Nevers when they were airing on Tubi? Too tied up with work or school to watch the world premiere of the last six episodes of The Nevers? Briefly find yourself in some sort of time travel, alien-powered, body swap situation during mid-February 2023 and can’t get to Tubi???

If you miss The Nevers this week, you’ll have another chance to stream it on Tubi from March 1 to March 3. Streaming times have not yet been confirmed.

What is Tubi and is Tubi Worth It?

Tubi, or Tubi TV, is the largest and fastest-growing free, ad-supported video app, available on TV, mobile, and online. Since it’s free and ad-supported, it’s known as a FAST streaming service.

Is Tubi worth it? Well, you’re not paying anything to use it, so sure. It is a pain in the butt to navigate, though. There’s a “guide” menu that shows you what’s currently playing on Tubi’s various “channels,” but it’s next to impossible to find future schedules. This is especially irksome since if you miss a show or film “live,” you have to wait for it to return.

There’s no doubt, however, that Tubi is worth it for fans of The Nevers, Westworld, and other cancelled HBO and HBO Max shows that were stripped from the service. Tubi is now the only place fans can hope to catch their fave shows.
