Reese Witherspoon Reveals What Mila Kunis Said About Her Photos With Ashton Kutcher on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: “You Guys Look so Awkward”

Reese Witherspoon is finally addressing those cringe-worthy red carpet photos with her Your Place or Mine costar Ashton Kutcher.

While chatting on this morning’s Valentine’s Day episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the rom-com queen revealed that her friend Mila Kunis, who is also Kutcher’s wife, called them out for the uncomfortable photos, which made the rounds on social media earlier this month.

“Mila texted us the other day. She goes, ‘You guys look so awkward on the carpet together,'” Witherspoon told Drew Barrymore. “She goes, ‘You guys are so weird. You act like you’re kids at a birthday party who don’t want to take pictures or something.'”

In case you missed it, Witherspoon and the That ’70s Show alum were trolled online for their awkward poses on the red carpet for the premiere of their new Netflix rom-com. They clearly didn’t take notes from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, who had everyone fooled that there was a little more going on behind the scenes while promoting their 2018 flick A Star is Born.

“We’re really good friends but we’re, like, I don’t know what people want,” Witherspoon added.

“What is it supposed to be? Like that on the red carpet?” Barrymore asked as she hoisted her leg up and straddled Witherspoon. “I don’t get it.”

The Legally Blonde actress echoed that she also doesn’t understand before pointing out that Kutcher is “a married man” who is in a relationship with Kunis, one of her “very, very good friends.” She also reminded the audience that they are “acting in the movie” and that “it’s called acting for a reason.”

While many viewers would beg to differ as they’ve called out the duo for their lack of chemistry onscreen, Barrymore praised her old friend, telling her, “Well, you’re both so good in the movie.”

Your Place or Mine, which is currently streaming on Netflix, features Witherspoon and Kutcher as longtime friends who live on opposite ends of the country. When they decide to switch houses for a week, they learn that what they’ve been looking for may have been standing in front of them the entire time.
