When the new season of Naked and Afraid premieres on Discovery on Sunday, Feb. 19, there will be one very specific, painful moment to watch out for. That would be when one of the season’s contestants, Sam Mouzer, gets his penis burned by a hot coal, and the entire, blistering experience is caught on camera.
In the scene, Sam is seen sleeping in the buff (of course), next to fellow contestant Lilly while a campfire burns next to them for warmth. As the fire crackles, Sam calls out in pain when he feels sparks from the coals land on the tip of his penis.
“We’ve been peppered by hot coals,” Sam explains the next day. “And one of said coals has landed on my, uh, my little soldier’s helmet.”
“I’ve got coal d—k,” Sam jokes in footage from the incident. “I’m gonna look like I’ve been hit with buckshot when I get out.”
Though he was able to chuckle about the painful incident in the moment, Sam did need to seek treatment the next day from a “brave, heroic medic” who applied disinfectant to the wound.
The situation occurred while Sam and Lilly were filming Season 15 of the show in New Mexico. (I promise you, if this incident had occurred in South America, the title would have definitely referenced Sam’s Amazon Fire Stick.)
