Drew Barrymore has been bitten by the Joe Goldberg bug. In a clip teasing her birthday episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the talk show host was (naturally) locked in a glass cage and left completely starstruck when You star Penn Badgley made a surprise appearance.

In the video posted to her Instagram, Ross Mathews lead a blindfolded Barrymore into a glass cage — mimicking the one Badgley’s character uses to hold his victims hostage before murdering them in the hit Netflix series.

After her co-host instructed her to keep the blindfold on her face, Barrymore quipped, “This is the most exciting blindfolded experience I’ve ever had!”

Once she was all locked away, Mathews explained, “So, Drew, you are of course in a glass cage because we know that you love a certain show. So we brought you to You. And, come on out, you!”

As Badgley appeared on the stage, Barrymore dropped to the ground in excitement.

“This is a birthday gift for you. I know that you love to remove stains,” he joked as he passed stain remover through the small glass window. While the 50 First Dates star was still left speechless, a defeated Badgley added, “You’re not supposed to want this!”

The first part of You Season 4 was released earlier this month. It finds serial stalker (and killer) Joe escaping the LA suburbs and attempting to start a new life as a professor in London.

Plus, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Barrymore romanticize Badgley’s creepy character. During a Drew’s News segment that aired last year, the actor dialed into her show, where she told him, “I was worried we were going to summon weird people to our lives because we kept talking about why couldn’t we be loved the way you love.”

Barrymore added, “I wish you would stand outside my window and care about what I was thinking and feeling,” to which Badgley replied, “There are so many reasons why that can’t happen.”

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays on CBS. You can check the website for local airtimes.
