On Feb. 19, 2022, America’s Got Talent fan favorite Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 31. One year later, her family is helping the world remember their loved one’s stunning voice with the release of her first album.

This past Sunday (Feb. 19), Nightbirde’s family and The Nightbirde Foundation broke news that the late singer’s debut album, It’s OK, would immediately be available for pre-order.

In an Instagram post about the release, Nightbirde’s brother (who also serves as The Nightbirde Foundation’s CEO), Mitch Marczewski, shared, “This album doesn’t pit emotions against one another, but rather it shows joy can come through sorrow.”

He continued, “Jane would be so proud of this album, but more than that, she’d be proud of the work that the Nightbirde Foundation is doing to help others find hope and healing in the midst of tragedy.”

In 2020, doctors gave Nightbirde six more months to live, and began interactive treatments in hopes of extending her life. One year later, she was a contestant on America’s Got Talent, singing original song, “It’s OK,” where she shared both her beautiful voice and inspiring story, both of which moved the judges enough to earn her Simon Cowell‘s coveted golden buzzer.

While Nightbirde was forced to withdraw from the show several weeks later due to health reasons, her performance left a lasting impact on viewers and judges alike. When the singer appeared back on the show digitally two months after her initial audition, Cowell expressed his admiration and respect for Nightbirde as both an artist and human being.

“Even though you haven’t competed, you’ve already won. Your clip has had such an impact on so many people, and your courage, and who you are,” he told her. “The most important thing is your well-being and your health and your recovery.”

Nightbirde told the judges that night before signing off, “I cannot say thank you enough for the opportunity to have a moment to share my story. I think it’s restored by faith in humanity a whole lot, to see people come together over the fact that we all hurt, we all suffer, and we all have the potential to overcome.”

She added, “This is the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me, in my whole life.”

You can continue to celebrate Nightbirde’s work, life, and legacy by ordering It’s OK on Spotify and iTunes.

Proceeds from It’s OK go to The Nightbirde Foundation, which seeks to aid in promoting the hope and healing of young women with breast cancer.
