If you’re looking to fill that Severance-sized hole in your life while you wait for season 2 to premiere, The Consultant might just be the best new show for you.

Marketed as a twisted, comedic-thriller, the series, inspired by the book of the same name by Bentley Little, is set in the headquarters of CompWare, a company that produces app-based games.

A new consultant (Christoph Waltz) is brought in to help improve business after a failed merger, and the employees soon find themselves experiencing new demands from a man who isn’t even their boss. The series will explore the relationship between a boss and their employees.

All eight episodes of the series were written by creator Tony Basgallop, who also created Apple TV+’s psychological horror series Servant. Episodes will be directed by Matt Shakman (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, WandaVision) and Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body), among others.

Season one of The Consultant premieres Friday, February 24, on Prime Video.

Prime Video tends to release new episodes of shows at midnight GMT, which means you’ll likely be able to stream The Consultant as early as 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) on Thursday, February 23.

HOW MANY EPISODES ARE IN SEASON 1 OF THE CONSULTANT?

The Consultant season one has eight episodes. Unlike some other shows on Prime Video that release weekly, all eight episodes will be released simultaneously.
