Is ‘The Consultant’ On Prime Video Based On A Book?

Amazon Prime Video is getting in on the “darkly comedic workplace thriller” trend with The Consultant, a new series premiering on March 24.

The show comes from writer Tony Basgallop, whose most recent TV credits include Servant on Apple TV+.

It stars Christoph Waltz as the titular consultant, who is brought into gaming company CompWare to improve business but ends up overstepping until he essentially runs the company.

The show will also star Nat Wolff, Brittany O’Grady, and Aimee Carrero. You’ll be able to watch new episodes every Friday on Prime Video (which costs $14.99/month or $139/year as part of an Amazon Prime subscription).

IS THE CONSULTANT BASED ON A BOOK?

Yes, The Consultant is based on a book.

Released in 2017, it’s the 26th novel by horror fiction author Bentley Little. Horror genre titan Stephen King has praised Little’s work.

The Consultant is only the second of Little’s titles to be adapted for the screen and the first of his full-length novels.
