Michael Mando Fired From Apple TV+ Series ‘Sinking Spring’ After On-Set Incident

Better Call Saul star Michael Mando has been fired from Apple TV+’s crime drama series Sinking Spring after an on-set incident involving a cast member, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Wagner Moura (Narcos) has been tapped to replace him, starring opposite Brian Tyree Henry.

The eight-episode series, which is based on Dennis Tafoya’s book “Dope Thief,” hails from Top Gun: Maverick writer Peter Craig and is directed/executive produced by Ridley Scott via his Scott Free Productions. Apple Studios is the main studio attached.

Sinking Spring is set in Philadelphia and follows two partners-in-crime who pose as DEA agents to rob a house in the countryside. Little do they know, their plan drags them into a dangerous endeavor, as they uncover one of the largest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.

Moura will take over for Mando as the character Manny Cespedes, a good-hearted friend of Ray’s (Henry), who he first met when they did time together in the Youth Authority.

Craig also executive produces and directs one episode. Henry, David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger also executive produce. Tafoya serves as a consulting producer.

Moura recently starred opposite Elisabeth Moss in the Apple TV+ series Shining Girls.
