When The Bachelor returned with Episode 6 on Monday, February 27, Zach Shallcross was back in the picture after he spent Week 5 isolating in his hotel room with COVID. But another contestant was noticeably absent: Greer Blitzer.

After Shallcross’ positive COVID diagnosis completely derailed Episode 5, the week in London ended with the franchise’s first-ever Zoom rose ceremony. Shallcross sent home Mercedes and Kylee, while Greer received the final rose of the evening, leading fans to believe that she’d be back for Episode 6.

So what happened to Greer on The Bachelor? Where is Greer during Week 6? And why does Greer go home in Episode 7 of The Bachelor?

What Happened To Greer On The Bachelor? Did Greer Get COVID?

If you recall, Blitzer and Shallcross got into a little disagreement during the Zoom cocktail party in Episode 5. In trying to relate to Shallcross, the contestant told him, “I work in sales, and last time I had COVID it was at the end of a quarter, so I know what it’s like to have a goal you’re trying to reach and you’re stuck.”

Shallcross got very defensive after the comment, explaining, “I do want to throw out there that I think it’s completely different with me finding my future wife versus the end of sales close quarter…I put a lot of weight on this week, and it is frustrating. In a few short weeks I could be standing in front of my person, and that means a lot more to me than a sales quarter.” Greer apologized for offending him and spent the rest of the night scared that she insulted him and would be eliminated, but as we noted above, she received the final rose of the night. So what happened to Greer in Episode 6?!

Several fans wondered if she left on her own after the challenging week, but at the top of Episode 6, host Jesse Palmer told Shallcross, “I do have some news. Unfortunately Greer also is feeling a bit under the weather.” He then confirmed Blizter wouldn’t be free to date during Week 6 because she started testing positive for COVID.

So where is Greer in Episode 6? Palmer said that although Blitzer feels fine and is asymptomatic, she’s in her hotel room, quarantining. “If you can let her know that I’m thinking about her and I want her to get as healthy as she can as quick as she can — but not to stress and worry about it,” Shallcross replied.

Did Greer Go Home On The Bachelor in Week 6?

Not only does Blitzer not go home during Week 6, but the preview for The Bachelor Episode 7 shows her returning to the show. She’s seen knocking on Shallcross’ hotel room door, giving him a big hug, and telling the camera: “I’m back, baby!” Later in the preview, Blitzer tells a smiling Shallcross that she does still see something between them. But does he decide to keep her around for another week?

Why Did Greer Leave The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 7?

UPDATE (3/7/2023): After testing positive for COVID and quarantining in her hotel room for six days, Blitzer arrived in Budapest, Hungary in Season 27, Episode 7 and met back up with Shallcross. As noted in our episode recap, she eagerly knocked on his hotel room door, but when they sat down to catch up they realized they were no longer on the same page. Blitzer told Shallcross she still saw something between them and was ready to introduce him to the fam, but he told her his relationships with the other women strengthened while they were apart and he wasn’t confident they could catch up ahead of Hometowns. After a tearful goodbye, Greer said goodbye to the show for good.

The four contestants Shallcross getting Hometown Dates are Gabi Elnicki, Ariel Frenkel, Charity Lawson, and Kaity Biggar.

New episodes of The Bachelor Season 27 premiere on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Episodes are available for next-day streaming on Hulu.
