Hugh Grant went viral at this year’s Academy Awards for two reasons — one, for his painfully awkward interview with model Ashley Graham; and two, for saying he looked like a “scrotum” while presenting the award for Best Production Design during Sunday night’s (March 12) broadcast. Bet you can’t guess which one he addressed on this morning’s episode of The View!

Whoopi Goldberg brought up the hilarious moment when Grant reunited with his Four Weddings and a Funeral costar Andie MacDowell to present the golden statue. She pointed out that the two actors “seemed to have had a good time,” before rolling a clip for anyone who might have missed it.

“We’re actually here to do two things. The first is to raise awareness about the vital importance of using a good moisturizer,” Grant said on the Oscars stage. “Andie has been wearing one every day for the last 29 years. I’ve never used one in my life.”

Pointing to his former costar, he said, “Still stunning,” before pointing back to himself and joking, “Basically a scrotum.”

While speaking to The View co-hosts, Grant revealed that he wrote the joke — which Goldberg called “funny as hell” — and was “extremely nervous about it.”

“I think I got away with it,” he told the panel. “Sigourney Weaver said to me afterward, ‘You don’t look like a scrotum.’ She liked the joke. That relaxed me. But I was very nervous about it.”

Luckily, Goldberg had a nice big bottle of moisturizer handy which she gave to the actor “just in case.” She told him, “You can never have too much moisturizer,” before he jokingly asked, “Would you mind if I moisturized during our interview?”

Now we just need him to address what the heck happened during that interview with Graham!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
