Apple TV+‘s Ted Lasso is shining the spotlight on a new team in Season 3: West Ham United.

Don’t worry. Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and AFC Richmond are still the stars of the show. But after Season 2 ended with Rebecca’s (Hannah Waddingham) ex-husband Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head) buying West Ham and Nate (Nick Mohammed) leaving to join him as a coach, Season 3 explores their Premier League rivalry and gives us a look at the inner workings of West Ham.

In the Season 3 premiere, we see the “wonder kid” Nate leading practice on West Ham’s menacing pitch. After he introduces players to the “dum-dum line,” Mannion’s assistant fetches Nate for a meeting and he turns to put a colleague in charge of practice.

“Disco!” Nate screams to a nearby man in West Ham attire. “Take over. Five more minutes of this then just run ’em till the drop.”

“OK!” Disco replies. Then after Nate leaves, he screams an iconic line to the team: “Just because my name is Disco doesn’t mean we’re here to party!”

Who is this dude? What’s his deal? And WHY is he called Disco? As we see more of West Ham on the pitch throughout Season 3, we’ll likely see more of their new coach as well. So who plays Disco on Ted Lasso? Here’s everything we know about actor Jadran Malkovich.

Who Plays Coach Disco on Ted Lasso Season 3? Meet Jadran Malkovich

Though Disco is still largely a mystery to us, we do know the character is played by Jadran Malkovich, a 46-year-old actor who kicked off his on-screen career in 2010. If you recognize Malkovich, it may be because of his roles in Whiskey Cavalier, Austenland, or Alex Rider, but per his IMDb page he’s also appeared in other TV series and films over the years, including War Horse, Two Sides of the Abyss, The Gold, and more. Malkovich has also done video game and voice over work throughout his career, and he starred as Frank Farmer in Bodyguard The Musical in the 2010s.

According to Malkovich’s Spotlight page, he’s a multilingual actor who’s based in London and skilled in several sports (including football, of course). If you’re looking to keep up with him outside of the West Ham pitch, can follow Malkovich on Twitter and Instagram, where he has a lovely library of salt and pepper beard photos.
