Whoopi Goldberg has just about had it with being blamed for passing gas during live broadcasts of The View. The moderator was quick to shut down any potential rumor that could spread as a result of the suspicious sound she overheard during this morning’s episode.

Just last week, Goldberg — who was speaking during a Hot Topics segment — appeared to accidentally cut one loose as she admitted to the giggling panel, “That was gas,” leaving many View fans torn over whether it was a fart or a burp.

This time, however, she was sure to set the record straight before she could be accused of any wrongdoing.

The hilarious moment came as the ladies discussed the Ted Lasso cast’s visit to the White House, where Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was blasted by Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba, who claimed he was being discriminated against after not being called on in the briefing room.

“Look at your behavior, sir. You have to look at your behavior because nobody wants to be jumped,” Goldberg said. “Nobody wants to be jumped up there. The gig is tough enough.”

While Goldberg attempted to continue, she was derailed by a fart sound that came from Sara Haines‘ general vicinity, prompting her to pause and ask, “What was that?”

“It’s my glass. Every time I turn it like this,” Haines explained as she moved her mug around the table, proving that it was, indeed, the origin of the sound.

When Sunny Hostin pointed out, “That sounded a little strange,” Joy Behar added, “OK, let’s put that rumor to rest …. See that sound that you hear? That’s a cup, OK?”

Goldberg continued to squash the rumors as she told the audience, “Yes, because we get blamed for dropping gas when in fact it is a cup.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
