Regular fans of The View may have noticed one host missing during this morning’s episode of the long-running show. While Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Joy Behar were present at the Hot Topics table, Alyssa Farah Griffin was noticeably absent.

As the bunch settled into their chairs, Goldberg welcomed the audience to The View, before revealing, “Alyssa is not here because unfortunately, she has COVID.”

After noting that the virus is “still around,” Haines quipped, “So meet our new conservative, Sunny Hostin,” who threw up her hands and smiled as she gleefully sat in Griffin’s regular spot.

Before jumping into today’s Hot Topics, Goldberg went on to plug Thursday’s episode as she added, “Feel better and tune in tomorrow when U.S. Attorney General Vivek Murthy gives us the latest on the COVID crisis and other health issues.”

After several guest-hosting appearances, Griffin — who is now vehemently anti-Donald Trump, but worked under his administration until 2020 — joined The View full-time at the start of the currently airing season. She took over for the show’s former conservative host, Meghan McCain.

While the co-hosts did not say when Griffin will return to the show, Goldberg took a week off when she was diagnosed with COVID back in November 2022, which she said was “a rough one.”

Here’s hoping Griffin has a speedy recovery!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
