Dick Van Dyke was reportedly involved in a Malibu car crash last week in which he suffered “minor injuries,” according to People.

Authorities told the outlet that the 97-year-old actor was driving a silver 2018 Lexus LS 500 when the car slid into a gate last Wednesday (March 15). While paramedics treated him on the scene and he opted out of going to the hospital, sources told TMZ that he was bleeding from his mouth and nose, and may have suffered a concussion.

The sources added that drugs and alcohol were not involved, although cops have submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting that Van Dyke retake his driving test, citing his age as one reason.

The accident comes just over a month after the veteran actor’s most recent small-screen appearance, where he evoked strong emotion from the Masked Singer judges following his elimination from the singing competition show.

Dressed as a giant Gnome, Van Dyke wowed the judges with his performance of “When You’re Smiling” by Billie Holiday. While they weren’t able to correctly guess who was hiding behind the elaborate costume, Nicole Scherzinger burst into tears upon the true revelation.

“I love you so much. We love you. The whole world loves you so much,” she gushed. “It’s an honor to have you on our show. I can’t believe you’re here, I’m trying to play it cool. You look so gorgeous, you look so handsome.”

As for why he decided to join the FOX series, the Mary Poppins star — who concluded his time on the show by singing “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” — told People, “I had never even seen the show when they asked me. So I checked it out and it looked like a lot of fun. I was positive they wouldn’t be able to guess who I was. And I was right!”

Hopefully, we’ll see Van Dyke hopping around a stage again one day soon!
