Pat Sajak Wrestles With ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant After Big Win: “Want Me to Body Slam Him?”

Pat Sajak appears to be having the time of his life on Wheel of Fortune lately. 

The longtime game show host shocked fans on Tuesday’s (March 21) episode by tussling with a contestant who had just finished winning big on the show. 

Fred, who is a drama teacher, bar trivia host and professional wrestler, played a perfect game in Tuesday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, so much so that the show even shared a highlight reel of his sweeping success. 

“Do you want me to body slam him for you? I can do that,” Sajak asked the other two contestants after Fred completed another successful guess. 

But what shocked viewers at home the most was the moment after Fred was crowned victor with a whopping $75,800. 

The player became emotional and shared a hug with his father. That is, until Sajak appeared back on stage and pinned Fred’s arm behind his back in a playful wrestling move.

In a post-show interview with Sajak’s daughter and Wheel‘s social correspondent, Maggie Sajak, Fred admitted that the famous game show host “genuinely” had him pinned for a moment. 

“What do you think about my dad’s wrestling skills?” Maggie asked.

“He got me,” Fred admitted. “Genuinely, I was trying to counter his hammer lock he had me in. I was trying to get behind him and I wasn’t going anywhere.”

Fans in the comments seemed to love the moment Fred and Sajak shared, with one commenting, “That was a good one!! The end was so funny.”

It’s just the latest hijinks Sajak has gotten up to recently on Wheel of Fortune. Earlier this month, he teased a contestant over her unusual phobia and even tugged on another contestant’s beard in a moment viewers at home called “super cringey.”
