Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes‘ comeback is going to be harder than they expected. The couple have reportedly found their recent talk show pitches rejected by multiple major television networks.

The dethroned ABC hosts have been pitching an “up close and personal” talk show to a variety of competing networks, including CNN, CBS and NBC, as previously reported by The Daily Mail. Last week, it was reported that they were attempting to sell their chemistry to the producers behind The Ellen Show

Now, sources claim that these pitches are not going well for the couple.

An insider told the New York Post that major television networks, such as CBS Media Ventures and CNN, have turned down pitches from Robach and Holmes. They also claimed that Fox Entertainment and Fox Television Stations have met with the duo.

According to an insider, “general meetings” for “various opportunities” at Fox were arranged by the couple’s talent agency, CAA. “I don’t think the talks are serious at all,” the source said. “CAA set up these meetings and everybody took them. I don’t think anyone is serious. I don’t think there’s anything there.”

The two hosts are still allegedly meeting with additional media companies.

A “skeptical TV expert” told the Post that Robach and Holmes would “take anything” at this point, and suggested that they don’t have an “expertise” aside from infidelity, despite the fact that both hosts had long careers ahead of their exposed affair, which resulted in them being booted from ABC.

In addition to co-hosting GMA3: What You Need to Know on ABC, Robach was an anchor on both Good Morning America and 20/20. In regards to the latter, she served as co-anchor alongside David Muir from 2018 to 2022. Robach also worked for MSNBC as a morning news anchor before moving to NBC to be a national correspondent and co-host of the Saturday broadcast of The Today Show

On the other hand, Holmes had experience with CNN, MSNBC and BET before joining ABC, and has covered multiple national news stories. He shares a Peabody Award with his CNN colleagues for their reporting on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the 2008 presidential election. Though during his cheating scandal with Holmes, it was alleged that Holmes had engaged in multiple affairs with associates at ABC, including an intern – which rightfully paints him as a liability for other networks.

However, suggesting that Robach and Holmes’s scandal is anything but that — an affair —misrepresents the situation and is effectively harming their careers, which is a shame as they have an obvious knack for engaging news reporting and social commentary. So, let’s stop pretending like they’re bad at their jobs and instead, question why their behavior (which is very common within media and entertainment) is causing such a ruckus.
