When Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) decided to call it quits with Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) at the end of Ted Lasso‘s Season 3 premiere, I’m sure he knew he’d have a hard time recovering from the heartbreak. But I’m not sure he fully considered how hard everyone else — aside from his beloved niece Phoebe (Elodie Blomfield), of course — would take the news.

In Season 3, Episode 2, “(I Don’t Want To Go To) Chelsea,” rumors of Roy and Keeley’s breakup spread through the club and beyond, and the AFC Richmond footballer-turned-coach quickly realizes he isn’t the only one grieving the loss of his relationship. The sheer sight of Roy inspires a collective sigh from the team. Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) is so shaken up he offers his former nemesis a hug. Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) emits several high-pitched yelps throughout the day. And Ted (Jason Sudeikis) damn near faints when he hears the news.

When Roy retreats to his office, he finds his desk littered with an array of “sorry about your breakup” balloons, flowers, cards, and teddy bears. He sits down and opens a large envelope on his desk to reveal a card in the shape of the letter C, covered with illustrations of fish. Inside, it reads, “Plenty of fish in the C. Get it? xx Liza.” On one hand, aww. On the other hand, who the f*** is LIZA?!

In a blink and you’ll miss it moment, Roy gives the card a once-over, shoots an annoyed glance, closes it, and tosses to the side. Though it doesn’t necessarily feel like he card is meant to carry much weight, aside from showing just how far news of this breakup spread, since Ted Lasso fans love understanding every little detail of the show and are so protective of Roy and Keeley, the question must be answered. After all, that’s a big breakup card to buy a casual acquaintance. And what’s up with those two kisses?

You may be wondering if Liza is the name of Roy’s sister/Phoebe’s mom, who we’ve never met because she works in the emergency room. Is Liza *gulp* the first name of Ruth Bradley’s character, Ms. Bowen, who once asked Roy if he was married and he simply said NO even though he was dating Keeley? Is this card from a famous Liza? A friend? An extended family member? Someone from Brett Goldstein’s own life? Well before we get too stressed about this breakup card, good Twitter samaritan @CrisNYC noted that Ted says hi to someone called Liza while walking into the club at the top of Season 2, Episode 6. More specifically, he says, “Hey Liza! Saw your Instagram post on Sunday. Way to keep that Ice Bucket Challenge alive.” Then she smiles, laughs, and carries on with her work.

If Liza works at the club, it makes sense that she’d be in the know about Roy and Keeley’s breakup. And considering the show is famous for including clever Easter eggs and shout outs to real people, the name Liza may also be a cheeky nod to executive producer and senior vice president of Doozer Productions, Liza Katzer.

Decider reached out to Ted Lasso reps to find out more about Liza, so we’ll update the article if we hear back. Until then, let’s hear Goldstein’s thoughts on the breakup that threw Richmond off course.

“As a fan, I love Roy and Keeley. I am devastated. I’m with Phoebe all the way,” Goldstein told Decider during a recent interview. “Awful. Horrendous. Devastating. No, thank you.”

We agree, sir. We agree.
