What’s one thing that all horror movie fans have in common? They want to be scared out of their minds. One particular movie — allegedly on Netflix — is going viral for doing just that.

TikTok user Mr. Movie uploaded a video talking about a movie called Untold, which he claims is the scariest movie to ever exist.

He teases, “There is a new horror movie on Netflix that some people are saying is the scariest movie ever made.”

The TikToker shares that the movie is called Untold and reveals a poster for the work, which features a ghost at the center and text suggesting that the movie is based on a true story.

The bottom of the poster reads that the movie was released on March 7 and lists a website for the film.

He continues to reference a “Netflix algorithm report” that states, “96% of all accounts turned the movie off at exactly nine minutes and 45 seconds.”

Mr. Movie continues, “Now, I watched the movie past nine minutes and 45 seconds but everybody I told about this movie had to shut it off right there.” He concludes by breaking down the math, stating that only 4% of viewers were able to finish watching the movie.

Is Untold a real horror movie? Here’s everything you need to know.

How to Watch Netflix’s Untold

Unfortunately, Untold is a fake horror movie fabricated by the aforementioned TikTok account. There were many clues throughout the TikTok video confirming that it is fake.

According to Decider’s New on Netflix list for March, the only movie to be added to the streamer on March 7 was World War Z, which is a horror action movie that premiered in 2013 starring Brad Pitt

Next, the algorithm document that Mr. Movie claimed to be from Netflix was visibly a random document from a local cat clinic. The last and final check comes down to the poster, which lists an inactive website for the alleged movie.

Did People Think Netflix’s Untold Was Real?

Let’s not be too quick to judge: the internet is a magical, scary and sometimes deceptive place. There are billions of people around the world utilizing the same platforms to share information, stories, etc., some of which utilize patterns and trends to appear as trustworthy sources. That is exactly how Mr. Movie — who identifies as a parody account on his main page — was able to deceive so many people into believing that Untold was a real horror movie on Netflix. He adopted a format that many influencers use to recommend new titles in theaters and various platforms.

His video has been viewed over 2.3 million times in less than 24 hours, garnering tons of activity in the comment section from people claiming that they can’t find the movie on their accounts – some even assumed that it was only available in certain countries or that Netflix has already removed the movie.

One commenter asked for someone to send her a link, stating that the only Untold movie she could find on Netflix was the documentary series with the same name. Others were quick to play along, sharing their fake experiences watching the fabricated movie.

When interacting with those claiming that they couldn’t find the movie, Mr. Movie offered advice like, “Is your modem hooked up to the internet?”
