Brittney Taylor, the New York rapper and former star of VH1’s Love and Hip Hop: New York, has been arrested in New York after turning herself in for assaulting her children’s father with a baseball bat. Taylor, who has gone by the name Bri Beauty, was charged with two counts of assault, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to details released by TMZ, Taylor and her boyfriend Afeez got into a fight while he was visiting their two children. Afeez’s criminal complaint states that after a verbal exchange, Brittney punched him, and later hit him with a baseball bat which resulted in a laceration above his eye. The couple’s two children, a two year old and an eight-month-old baby, were present at the time.

The incident reportedly occurred earlier this month, and in the time since, Afeez, who is a celebrity stylist, has posted about his injury to social media, writing, “Domestic violence against men is real and should be taken seriously. I’ve been bullied way too long. This is one instance of what happened when I flew to NYC to see my kids… Never again.”

Taylor only appeared on one season of Love and Hip Hop in 2017, but when she was first introduced to the show, she was outspoken about her anger issues, saying,”I took my anger out on everybody else in the street… I used my fists to express myself.” Though she says in that same video that she found God and stopped fighting, she subsequently had numerous altercations on her season of the show with several co-stars including Bianca Bonnie and MariahLynn, and she and Lifetime Original Movie star Remy Ma got into an altercation off-camera in 2019.
