Like the rest of us, Drew Barrymore can’t help but fangirl over Florence Pugh — and during Zach Braff‘s visit to The Drew Barrymore Show, she learned that the feeling was mutual.

Braff — the director of A Good Person, which stars Pugh in the lead role — told Barrymore that the actress was a big fan of Charlie’s Angels as a kid, so much so that she would learn Barrymore’s action sequences from the 2000 action-comedy.

“I just texted her before I came on, I said, ‘I’m doing Drew’s show.’ She goes, ‘Oh my god, will you please tell her that I was obsessed with Charlie’s Angels? I know her fight choreography,'” Braff revealed.

Barrymore — whose mouth dropped open at the news — replied, “Will you please text her back and tell her that I believe her name should be officially changed to The Great Florence Pugh?”

When the talk show host asked her guest why he thinks “we’re all so obsessed” with Pugh, he credited her undeniable “magic.”

“It’s the old school thing of old school movie stars where they had a magic,” he said. “Obviously, she’s beautiful. Obviously, she’s an incredible actress. But she has that magical thing.”

He continued, “Obviously, you have it too. These people that go to the next level and are movie stars and you just can’t take your eyes off of them.”

As for her performance in A Good Person — which also stars Morgan Freeman — Braff said his “jaw was on the floor.” The director, who dated Pugh for three years before they called it quits last August, added that he “wanted to write for her” and that they were “developing it together” during lockdown when they were still a couple.

When Barrymore noted that they were “each other’s muses,” he admitted, “Yes, we truly were.”
