Yes, the Tetris movie is real, and it’s coming to Apple TV+ this weekend.

Directed by Jon S. Baird, with a screenplay by Noah Pink, Tetris is based on the true story of the origins of everyone’s favorite addicting computer game. Taron Egerton stars as Henk Rogers, the enterprising young businessman who sees the money-making potential of a block-building computer game he encounters at a tech fair. The only problem? The game was designed by a Russian programmer, and it’s the ’80s. Which means the game is under the control of the Soviet Union.

A tense, Cold War-era legal battle ensues. Henk is forced to navigate greedy Americans, threats from the KGB, and the pillars of communism to get his hands on those brightly-colored blocks. And yes, this movie does make liberal use of the Tetris theme song.

Also starring Toby Jones, Nikita Yefremov, Roger Allam, and Anthony Boyle, Tetris is a fun, fast-paced watch. Read on to find out how to watch the Tetris movie, including the Tetris movie release date and the Tetris movie release time on Apple TV+.
