Prime Video came in hot this year with a string of must-watch original series that dominated the social conversations over the length of their runs, and there might be another hit on the way with The Power, a new sci-fi series premiering March 31.
Toni Collette, Auli’i Cravahlo, and John Leguizamo lead an ensemble cast that also features Ted Lasso‘s Toheeb Jimoh, Josh Charles, and Rob Delaney in the globe-spanning drama that focuses on a universe not unlike our own, except women hold all of the power.
When teenage girls develop the ability to electrocute anything at-will, they also figure out a way to awaken this power in women of all ages. Soon, the entire balance of society shifts into something more matriarchal.

WHEN IS THE POWER‘S RELEASE DATE?
The Power will premiere on Prime Video this Friday, March 31, with three episodes.
WHAT TIME WILL THE POWER PREMIERE ON PRIME VIDEO?
While The Power‘s release day is technically Fridays, but Prime Video’s typical release schedule has new episodes premiering on Fridays at midnight GMT. Because of this, new episodes should be available to stream as early as 8 p.m. ET on Thursday night.
HOW TO WATCH THE POWER ON PRIME VIDEO:
The Power is exclusively available to Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscribers. Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month or $139/year and comes with a bunch of perks aside from Prime Video, including free two-day shipping, savings at Whole Foods, and a free year of Grubhub+.

HOW MANY EPISODES ARE IN THE POWER?
The Power will have nine episodes. The first three will be released at once, with one new episode coming out weekly after through May 12.
IS THE POWER BASED ON A BOOK?
Yes! The Power is based on Naomi Alderman’s 2016 novel, which is available to purchase in hardcover, paperback, or in audiobook form on Audible.
HAS THE POWER BEEN RENEWED FOR SEASON 2?
At this time, it’s unclear if The Power will get a second season. However, it’s not being billed as a miniseries, so there is potential for more seasons.
