Things are looking very, very bad for the makeshift crew of the USS Titan on Star Trek: Picard. In the last episode, villain Vadic (Amanda Plummer) took control of the ship after using her Changeling army to kick the crap out of everyone on board. And based on Decider’s exclusive clip from this week’s episode, things are about to go from bad to worse.

In the new episode, titled “Surrender”, written by Deborah Kampmeier and directed by Matt Okumura, we’re picking up right from last week’s cliffhanger. Or, mostly right off, as Vadic teased that she was going to reveal the truth about Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers); an over-arching, season-long mystery that may or may not tie Jack back to the Changelings… Or at least explain why they’ve been trying so desperately to take him into their custody.

Instead, to draw Jack out, Vadic is seemingly taking inspiration from another iconic villain: The Walking Dead‘s Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Though presumably, we won’t get Vadic pulling out her barb-wire-wrapped phaser bat and beating anyone’s head to a pulp (even with the cursing, this is still a Star Trek show, after all), she does have her terrified captives lined up in a row and threatens to start offing them unless Jack reports to the bridge.

“Dearest, are you pleased with yourself?” Vadic practically coos. “Forcing this chaos. This suffering. On your crew. Still, you refuse me. You have ten minutes to come to the bridge, or I’ll execute one crew member for every ten minutes that follow. Starting… Well now.”

Included in the lineup is Captain Shaw (Todd Stashwick), whose potential murder would make those Star Trek: Legacy spinoff rumors a little more complicated. There’s also Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) on the line, as well as Lt. TVeen (Stephanie Czajkowski), Ensign Kova Rin Esmar (Jin Maley), and a few others.

Will Vadic actually kill off her prisoners? She’s easily one of the most diabolical villains in Star Trek history, but the crew has to be safe… Right?
